How much time passed from when the guy killed Perry's wife up to when Jack met Perry for the first time?
Watching it I thought it was just one or two days passed but that doesn't seem right if that is what caused Perry to become homeless... it looks as if he's been homeless for quite a while. Can anyone fill me in?

there was a title card stating this right after the news telecast and Jack saying "s**t"
Yeah that part's pretty clear. Whereas I was wondering on my latest watch how long it was between the double date (leading to Parry's relapse) and Jack stealing the cup. Seems like it must have been weeks or months, given that Parry's injuries have healed and Jack has the new place, girlfriend, and potentially tv show that he's bragging about. (Though it seems like we have no indication whether he went back to his old GF or got a new one or what.)
Guess it would have just slowed the film down to fill this stuff in.
