The only TRUE Dobermann movie

This movie is the ONLY ONE to show what this amazing breed is all about. Dobermanns are fantastic. Very friendly, loving and sweet animals. If you think the stereotype of a violent and vicious beast is real (this is what beeing so powerfull looking gives you), think again: you couldn't find a more loyal friend. My best friend is the TOP Dobermann breeder in South America, responsible for the TOP DOBERMANNS IN THE WORLD, several of them multi-awarded, and I know what I'm talking about.

Just go to a Dog Show, or visit a fine breeder in your country and see for yourself.

From the Guinness book of records:

An amazing Doberman Pinscher by the name of Sauer, tracked a thief 100 miles across the Great Karroo in South Africa by his scent alone in 1925.

Sauer, who was trained by Detective-Sergeant Herbert Kruger, still holds the record for being the best tracking dog.

i own 2 German Shepherds , i must say the Doberman is almost on par with them as far as intelligence goes.

I've seen Doberman's described several times as one of the five smartest breeds (border collies are considered number one).

Also, today's Dobermans have a much milder tempermant than the original German breed, which was developed specifically as a guard dog by a tax collector or postman or something in the late 19th Century. Over the years, the breed's popularity has led to an almost accidental alteration as people have continued selecting dogs with the best tempermant as pets and not working dogs. As a result, the average Dobie is now a happy-go-lucky tail-wagging kid-loving family dog. I've had two, and my parents had one before. I love them.

You are correct on the breeding issue - the same goes for pits - people - a very very minute group of bad people - are taking the most aggressive of each litter and breeding them to be violent dogs but overall they are friendly, butt wagging, loving protective pets. I'd never hesitate to let a well bred dobie or pittie around a baby - while supervised of course because ANY dog will lie down on the baby, lick the baby, just so much can go wrong but generally they are both breeds, really great very smart dogs.

You are so fortunate - Shepards are INCREDIBLE dogs - just incredible!!!

reply

Absolutely - in fact almost all dogs are - they have the nose for scent that is 50 times more powerful than ours and the part of their brain that analyzes all those scents is 40 times greater than ours. Dogs are simply incredible. Dobies get a rap as bad as pitties and as the former owner of a canine rescue I find it so hard to watch movies where they fight dogs - I had DOZENS of bait dogs come to me for rescue and rehab and dozens of fighting dogs that had been adandoned because they could not win any longer INCLUDING a boxer that was tossed off a bridge lie this one. Thankfully a young couple saw it happen, jumped in to save the boxer and brought him to me for a happy ending
