Does anyone know if the dog that played as rimshot is still around?

It depends on how old he was when they filmed it, my dog lived to be 16... so it could be possible
I'm wondering if the dog who played as Rimshot is the same dog that played as Nippy in Problem Child 2.

I don't think it's the same dog. I looked up the dog trainer from Ernest and it didn't list Problem Child 2 in his list of past movies. I doubt a different trainer was used on the same dog.

Probably more than "one" Rimshot was used in this movie. Several animals are usually used in movies to portray one character animal. Same for babies, and even some young (ages 2-6) children. But, there was only one Jim Varney. There will probably never be anyone around again like him.
shareThe dog's name was "Barkley" sometimes spelled "Barclay". He played Rimshot in Ernest Goes to Jail too. I believe I've seen that dog in other movies from the time period (Possibly Problem Child 2). He was fine actor, perhaps better than Ked McFarlane Jiminez ("heroic dog" in Mr. Deeds) lol.
