Old lady Hackmore as a teenager and as an adult

Did anyone notice a serious time gap in the intro and the end of the legend when he goes to the Hack-more manor, because she looks like she's around seventy, when they buried that troll she is no more than twelve or thirteen and then when we see her she looks like she's in her mid sixties to early seventies, and their clothes are closer to the early 1900's.

They based this one in the early 1990's and it's a good time gap so she'd have to be closer to 90 to a 100 rather than sixty or seventy.

It's like the wait to free her siblings and friends from the troll's curse made her immortal, that she would not die until they were restored and the troll was defeated.

This is as good an explanation as any.

I think she lived as long as she did simply because she is actually a witch of sorts. Like wizards, witches in fiction have been known to live much longer than normal people. This can be seen in all sorts of media, from video games, tv shows, literature, and the like.

Theory of mine..

I honestly think she sacrificed herself and her life to make sure someone would be around when Trantor returned. No one had any faith in the Worrell's once the curse was set, it was just a matter of time by that point until he returned more angry and determined to win.. so she just sacrificed everything and became a witch until the time came.. if there can be trolls in this world I'm sure there are witches too.

That could explain why she straight up told Ernest like an idiot about the curse and what he had to say.. she finally seen him and knew it was time to fight. Once he did and he came back she was so matter of fact and ready it didn't bother her and she already had the solutions ready to try stop him. It could also explain why she was so determined to free the older kids not just the siblings, she was there to right the wrongs.
