Just saw it for the first time

It's a good movie, I quite enjoyed it. I watched because I love Michael Kitchen, and I have to say, he was absolutely adorable in this one. The only problem was he wasn't in it enough.

I tried to watch the entire film, but found it boring.

Boring, really? It's one of my top 5 all-time favorite movies, so it's very difficult for me to imagine thinking it's boring. Ah well, we all have differing tastes.

It's one of my all time favorites too.

But it moves at a pace that's languid and reduces all the conflict to who gets on whose nerves -- which, of course, reflects the change that Lottie and Rose were looking for. It also relies on an appreciation of how WWI impacted and changed European society. If those aren't what floats someone's boat I can understand how they could dismiss it before they saw it through to the conclusion.

Pity, though, as it is a beautiful and moving film in which people were able to make some real personal leaps and repair their lives removed from their habitual environment. ...and it's hopelessly romantic. How bad can that be? 😉

Not enough car chases and explosions?

....and sex, don't forget sex.

I adore this film.
