Oakland, CA filming sites

In the first five minutes of the film the location begins in East Oakland known as the Foothill-Fruitvale area. This is my old neighborhood which I'm very familiar with. The Fruitvale Lounge and the Idle Hour businesses are the two main sites portrayed in the beginning of the film. The buildings are still there today but have changed their names & function.
