What did Victor and his father say to each other?

When Hillary first came to apply for the job and Victor's father went into the next room to speak to him, what did they say to each other? All I could make out was "give her a talking to"

Anyone else hear what was said?

Victor said something like "Why don't we give the girl a talking to before you make a decision?", asking his father to give Hillary a chance before dismissing her.
