So, did Dutch buy the car?

He flies in to pick up Doyle, gets a car, and we go from there. But if he rented the car, wouldn't he have to drive it back to the renting company? (If the car hadn't been damaged later that is) I assume he just bought the car, which is a big thing for a working-class man to buy just to give someone a ride. That was my first clue that Dutch must not be as poor as he appears to be.

You can rent a car in one city and drop it off in another. You will pay out the ying-yang for it but it can be done. As far as wrecking the car, I'm pretty sure since he was paying premimum bucks for it anyway he bought the insurance when he rented it.
