Criminally underrated!
Great story, great cast, great acting, great direction and double the van damage!!
Puts "Equinox" to shame.
Specially that Van Damme did the writing stuff and he's not a writer. I really enjoy this movie!!

I like Double Impact a lot but I think his best was Bloodsport, not only did the movie rock but when Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds got hurt he was on the bus and they played "On my own-alone", which was a perfect song for that moment. Plus the scene where the dude is kicking him and he's asking for more...a classic bloodsport was.
This has always been my favorite Van Dammster; it's got an undeniable purity that runs rampant throughout the film, and once you catch it, you know you've caught on to greatness. Its just a simple formula, executed PERFECTLY.
And VD's performance has to mentioned; i mean come on, its pretty impressive for a karate expert to play twin brothers in the same scenes, and still make them immediately recognizable by their personality, look, way they talk, fighting style... (the fight between chad and drunk alex is A W E S O M E) and i'm not some kind of VanDamme "defender" when it come to his acting. he can be downright atorcious in some roles. but i give praise where praise is due. and thats here.
and yet it wasnt overdone...it didnt distract you or pull you away from the story
what i look at is just the whole package, "as a whole" you know?
the way everything comes together...
not just one scene, like alot of his films people like em for 1 or 2 good scenes, but the movie as a whole might be a disaster...
so yes this movie, though not perfect, is HELLA underrated.

I agree. I'd give it between 7 and 8, not 4. It's got pretty good storyline, some really good fights and great action through whole film. I also find it very relaxing and entertaining film.
It's definitely among the best early 90's action films. Really worth seeing.

This movie is underrated by some fa**Ots wearing pink silk underwears that wants perfection in movies.
I must say that this movie was not made with the best intention to be perfect coordinated, it was made for entertain with action martialarts,comedy and coolness. Depends on the point of view you see the movie, to me it was a great experience watching it without looking at the wrong details.
Van damme & Bolo yeung in my favorite list.

I had forgetten how good this one was ..,.,., JCVD has a very underrated action catalogue ...Cyborg / kickboxer / bloodsport / ouble impact / universal soldier / sudden death / lionheart .... only because he didnt made big budget ones like arnie did ... but he's sureley one of the best ever in teh genre!
