Anyone else couldn’t finish it?

Two times I’ve tried to get through this, getting a little further the second time. I just found it to be a bit pretentious, did anyone else agree?

Of course it's a little bit pretentious, like Morrison himself. For instance, you can't get much more pretentious than Morrison's film school project with its tribute to Nietzsche and Nazis. But it makes for a hilarious moment because of the solemnity with which Morrison regards it. Would you have preferred a straightforward biopic? I thought its simulation of a hallucinogenic experience was far more effective than similar sequences in movies actually made in late 60s/early 70s (it helps to have Industrial Light and Magic doing the FX). You should give it another chance and dont feel bad if you can't actually stand Morrison's character. He isn't exactly very lovable.

I couldn't get through because it was the most boring movie ever made

I like the music that played in the background, but I could never get myself to watch longer than 20 minutes. The movie just doesn’t click for me

I could. I don't have the attention span of a concussed chicken, so I guess I have an advantage.

I thought this was a wild trip, boring??? People don't generally find this boring do they? Great music, crazy concert scenes and antics from JM. I don't think it's perfect but still among the most memorable and fun movie experiences I've had. Love the era.

I enjoyed it. I watched it about 2 or 3x and bought the CD.

I liked it...One of very few movies I actually saw twice in the theater!
