Harry Hamlin should have played Jim..

Think of his hair in Clash of the Titans very Morrison-like. Anyone else agree?

reply

I certainly do agree!

I always thought how much he resembled Morrison in that film but wondered if he could pull it off with his acting abilities as well. Plus The Doors was made a decade later and how did Hamlin look by this point? x

reply

Yeah, he would have been too old by then...

reply

Imagine, John Travolta!

Instead of Hamlin, Daniel Day Lewis crossed my mind at one point.

Dalton and Craig! Accept NO substitutes!

Bump^

reply

Harry Hamlin sucks.

Nobody would've watched it.

reply

Jim Carrey or Kevin Bacon/Tom Cruise

reply

harry Hamlin looks much more like jim Morrison then val, but he wasn't a big name.

reply

Oh hell no, Val Kilmer killed it, his vocals were gorgeous.

reply

Val was prefect but I do remember hearing that Jason Patric was considered. That would have been interesting.

Kilmer was perfect casting, flawed as the film may be. I can see Harry Hamlin in the role, but he was almost 40 at the time.

Could have worked, but Val Kilmer was in his early 30s when they made The Doors,
and Harry Hamlin was pushing 40. Jim Morrison was in his 20s during the time period of the film. Kilmer was the better choice, and he is a bigger star.

Agreed, but Clash of The Titans was filmed in '79,
when he would have been about the right age for Morisson.
The Doors movie was made 11 years later.
