According to the trivia for this movie, Christopher Pettiet's schedule needed to be changed because of his drug addiction that was spiraling out of control. He was only 15 when this was made, so he probably started taking drugs when he was what, 13?! That's crazy. And he died in 2000 due to an "accidental drug overdose."

sharedrew barrymore was famous from the age of 3, so she had access to that lifestyle, and her mom didn't help. how did this boy, who started acting 2 years before this movie, have an addiction so soon. and where were his parents. i fail to understand why someone so young can be into drugs like that and no one helping him out.
shareactually, what i thought was how amazing he still looked up, until his death. i mean, sure he didn't actually get much work before his overdose, but did you SEE the guy? it's such a pity that he couldn't see what he had, and threw it all away like that.
