Did anyone else only watch because thats all the played on hbo?

Anyone else watch this as a kid because thats all they played on HBO? I swear me and my sisters and brother watched this nonstop all summer. The song at the end of the movie when the ending credits are rolling will forever be etched in my mind. The movie wasn't good at all to be honest.

Same here OP!!! Those of our families who could afford HBO, watched it all the time.

Yep. We didn't always have HBO, but when we did, this damn movie came on at least once a day. It STILL comes on all the damn time. It was just on earlier today. And it probably comes on 3-4 times a week on one of the HBO channels. I finally looked it up to figure out why, and it turns out that its an HBO movie. I should've known.... its weird. I mean, its not that great of a movie, but it was entertaining for an early 90s kid. But they're still showing it on premium cable in 2014 when its more like a late night movie that comes on TBS.

Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!

I remember seeing this at the theater before watching it all the time on HBO. It’s undeniably addicting—even today, I watch it almost every time it’s on—despite its being a pretty lousy movie. Joanna Cassidy is marvelous though.

I vaguely remember seeing this on HBO as a kid back when my parents had the HBO channel.

I saw it again on television back when I was about 14 in 2002, but it wasn't on HBO. Probably like TBS, or one of the other basic cable channels.

That is a bit strange how this movie still has a lot of playback, but it's a decent movie!

Yes! This was always on HBO when I was little, and still is! Just watched it again last night and know exactly what you mean about the songs. No matter how many times I've seen it since the early 90s,those songs always remind me of that first summer. But I loved the movie, and still do:)
