Cucumber line

When Rose and Sue are leaving the office and rose tells her to put cucumber on her eyes and Sue says "I think I might be out" and Rose says "Sue ellen! Every girl over the age of 25 should have a cucumber in the house!" What did she mean by that? Like girls should have cucumber, because it's good for eye relaxation, or did she mean it, um..in a sexual way..if you catch my drift?? In 15 years, I never fully understood that line. Maybe i'm just overly have my head in the gutter.

As a kid I figured it was to put on her eyes, as I got older I also thought that Rose meant keep a cucumber in the house for a different reason...but I don't know, I think it still refers to the eyes because she says over the age of 25, that sounds like a wrinkles kind of thing or something.

It was definitely inferring to the sexual nature of it. It was a "just between us girls" kind of joke that Sue Ellen didn't "process" because she was still too young (and likely overwhelmed by everything).

Obviously sexual, it was a way of showing how convinced she was that Sue Ellen was an adult. Any adults watching would get it.
