Don't know if I enjoyed it or not?

This is one heck of a weird movie. I hadn't realized till reading some of the messages here, that there was no other meat available. Is that true? No chicken or anything? Did the people buying meat know that it was human? That one weird guy was raising frogs and snails. He should have been selling them to the butcher. Did everyone in the building know that they may be butchered? I thought the sewer people were too strange and made the film unbelievable.

One heck of a weird movie?
Yes indeedy.

No other meat available?
It's implied that there are occasional rats, but other than that, no meat as far as I know.

Did the people buying meat know that it was human?
Yup. They just wouldn't admit it to themselves.

Frog & snail guy.
I think he was there simply as a metaphor. He lives in his room all by himself, taking care of frogs & snails, acting like he loves them. But when it's time for him to eat, he kills them without remorse. Exactly what everyone else was doing with people!

Did everyone in the building know that they may be butchered?
They mention in one scene that they all have an agreement "not to eat one of their own". Still, notice how no one ventures out when it's dark...

Strange sewer people.
Yeah that was a little bit bizarre. I wonder why they used that scene, since there was plenty enough suspense & action to make a nice climax (the bathroom scene). Also I like the way the movie, like a stage play, consisted of only a handful of characters. Their own little world where nothing else matters. To me, the sewer people were the only flaw in this movie. (If someone can explain why they were necessary, I'm listening)

So have you made up your mind if you liked it or not?
