This scene is epic. I still always get chills from it. It's one of THE top psycho scenes of any character in a movie. He's so tender, loving and sweet throughout the beginning of the film. But you find out he's greedy, calculating and a murderer. Then this scene sends it right over the top. Right before shouting his voice pitch gets all excited and heated, but he tries to maintain control quietly uttering, "Then I do it!" You can just see his brain going off the rails, and the true depths of this evil monster unfolds right before your eyes.
I thought you came up here to have a nervous breakdown. ..I decided not to have one.
Yeah, that is quite a scene.
Every time I think of this movie (and I've got it in my iTunes Library), I think of him yelling this to Goldie Hawn at the end.
It makes it very appropriate what happens next (when he reaches for the necklace).
