Weird scene as end credits are rolling

I have never seen this before since I never watch the end credits. I let them roll today and shortly after they begin, there's a scene with Crista and the psychic/doctor who helped her. The doctor slips a necklace over Crista's head and hugs her. Crista turns around and has a big smile on her face. I couldn't see if it was the same necklace hidden in Jennie's room, that Crista had placed in her coffin....strange.

Yes it is "that" necklace. I thought that final point with Marg Helgenberger looking straight at us is not only strange but very beautiful.
Where is the DVD?!
Because of all the uniqueness of the film it would be great to have the DVD with special features with commentaries from the filmmakers.

Spoiler

Wasn't Christopher Reeve strangled with that necklace? Is it implying that the psychic/doctor really strangled him and not really Jennie's ghost?

reply

That's not my read but then, this is supernatural and what goes around, comes around.

reply

I agree - because its supernatural I believe the mother put that necklace in Jennie's coffin for a reason, just in case they lost in court...When she was speaking w/the psychic lady and said just because its not logical doesn't mean its not true "its not over yet". Therefore, I believe it was Jennie who killed the husband not the psychiatrist - I mean the husband was experiencing just what his wife was w/Jennie's ghost appearing to him w/the "necklace" (that was put in the coffin); Jennie (who is/was an innocent child was murdered by that jealous control freak monster George- he was celebrating his win because he KNEW he was guilty but the justice system failed Crista and her daughter) I am saying it was Jennie who killed George but the "necklace" was returned to Crista to show that George got what was coming to him. I don't think it was the psychiatrist at all - the arm around George's neck was small - it was Jennie Did you not see George's face at the end, not only strangled but literally "scared to death" because he saw Jennie - PAYBACK IS A BITCH GEORGE !! KILLING AN INNOCENT CHILD BECAUSE HER MOTHER CRISTA SHOWED HER SO MUCH LOVE AND ATTENTION - HE WAS A JEALOUS PIG AND GOT WHAT HE DESERVED; KARMA!

reply

Yes, he was. In the book & movie, the necklace was in Jenny's coffin. She is the one who strangled George (Reeve).

I bought the DVD from www.ioffer.com some years ago. I don't know if it has since been officially released.

The end of the film was meant to show that Christa and the Dr. were now a couple. It was my idea to the director that they end up together , although ambiguous.

reply

I kinda thought that the doctor retrieved the necklace from Reeve's body and gave it to Christa to show her that Jennie had exacted justice - just my take on it
