Dream Theater's 'Metropolis Part 2:Scenes From a Memory' ties?

Have anyone whose a fan of this movie heard or even just read the lyrics/story to the Dream Theater album that's story/plotline is strikingly similar to Dead Again?

I think if they haven't, THEY DEFINITELY SHOULD..unless the style of music being "Progressive Metal" is so much not of their taste. But fans of D.A. atleast would have to acknowledge the similarity, although the members of the band Dream Theater will not admit to writing a concept album's story based on the this film. But there is no getting around it.

Also, the TV Show "Poltergeist:The Legacy" has an episode called "Vendetta" that has a little bit of similarity..more to parts of the Dream Theater record.

I believe Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci had this movie as an inspiration for the glorious Metropolis Pt.2.

Yeah, SFAM is somewhat based on this movie. Mike Portnoy and John Pettruci got ideas for it from this...

Yes! I thought it was just me. When SFAM first came out, I thought of this movie. Later, when some of the members of an online D.T. group were still confused about the plot of the album, I told them to watch this movie. Now I have to look out for that "Poltergeist" show. Thank goodness for the Chillers channel.

I actually got to talk to Mike Portnoy about SFAM when he toured down here and he certainly does cite this film as an inspiration for the album. Great album btw!

Mike Portnoy has said on his website that Dead Again did inspire the album.
