I'm so glad...

I'm so glad I grew up in a less cynical time when we were able to suspend our disbelief and just go along for the ride at the movies.

In my opinion, this is a great, entertaining film. It obviously (and deliberately) pays homage to other films and styles of the past, going back to Citizen Kane.

Doyle's score is surely not subtle... but I think it is amazing and works brilliantly for this type of film.

Just the opening montage with the Newspaper headline screaming MURDER was enough to hook me through the movie.

Does it have plot holes... sure. Is the dual life/re-incarnation angle realistic? Of course not.

But in the words of ... I believe it was Samuel Goldwyn... "If I want to see reality, I'll look out the window"

This is an old Hollywood stylized movie with fun twists, and a great "what if" premise.

I think the overly critical viewers should lighten up and try to enjoy this movie (and other Older films) for what they are.

I completely agree and love this post. I love it! I accept the cheese, the drama and the unlikeliness of it along with the amazing things about it (the style, the suspense, the comedy, the performances). I love it all.

This is one of those movies that I saw as a kid and it seemed amazing to me and I never fathomed that anyone could dislike it. Now I know they most certainly can and do. That is their right, of course, but like you...I am just glad I am not so hung up on whether it's realistic (as if that's even what it is supposed to be) that I simply cannot enjoy it.

Agree completely with both of you! Just watch the dadgummed movie already!

I love everything about it. I enjoy watching this. I'd say it is easily in my top 20 movies.

I agree. I love this film. Derek jacobi is great in this. Also Robin Williams is excellent as the bitter ex shrink.

I'd love to see this again. I like KB and ET, and will give them all kinds of slack if need be.
I do recall thinking Dead Again as being too stylized and not genuine and not terribly clever, but would love to feel different upon a re-watch.
