David Lynch Tribute...

When this film first came out, it was touted as a tribute to David Lynch. I recently saw the DVD extras with the director and producer being interviewed. Not once was David Lynch brought up. It was almost as if David Lynch was a taboo subject - when it's obvious that "Backward" has so many scenes resembling "Blue Velvet" and "Wild at Heart." What gives?

this movie reminded me more of a cross between brazil and freaks.

at any rate, it's lightyears more entertaining than eraserhead could hope to be.

I'm glad to have given you an excuse to use the word 'pedestrian' in a context outside of walking, even though it meant very little in the grand scheme of things considering your lack of knowledge in regards to my personal tastes.

Aside from that, your vapid opinion and attempt at winning a triple word score really mean very little.

"Not a very good comeback, but who could expect more from someone with such pedestrian tastes."

Think of a new word....there are tens of thousands of them in the dictionary to choose from.

That's truly impressive...

The more you try to sound intelligent, the more obvious your ignorance becomes.

My favorite part is when you tried to politicize your argument...it had this sort of elementary schoolyard feel to it.

The most ignorant part of that is you assuming that I'm from the usa and assuming that your grade-school taunt has any context in my reality.

Truth be told, it only serves to show your inability to prove any sort of point about the Dark Backward which appears to have been your problem throughout the thread.

Go back to writing entries for your blog that noone will ever read and we who have actual knowledge about movies and the ability to discuss issues without sounding behindered will continue posting in IMDB's threads.

I'm off to stroll the neighborhood and live up to my 'pedestrian' reputation.

I didn't think it was anything like Lynch. Far too sleazy, it was almost Street Trash-y in a way (without being a horror movie or having any gore). Overall a somewhat dull missed opportunity but it has some interesting scenes.
