Johnny's manner of speaking

Something I find quite familiar is Johnny (Vanilla Ice)'s manner of speaking. i noticed that it's very similar to how gangbangers talk. I understand that I am stereotyping with that statement or might even provoke some but I mean no insult or criticism. And perhaps maybe it was just the accent here in Chicago. But did anybody else notice that?
