Must see viewing for fans of the wire

After watching seasons 1-5 of the amazing HBO show The Wire, there was now a void that needed to be filled....social commentary films that touch the soul are hard to find but there a have been a couple films that have filled this hole since I have become wire-less They are Half nelson and City of Hope.
John Sayles films have come in to my life over the past year since I had his box set which included Return of the Secaucus 7, Lianna and The Brother from Another Planet. I also watched his latest film Honeydripper.... all very great films covering different themes tones and moods.
A friend of mine who is a big fan of the wire gave me a VHS copy of city of hope the other day giving the film very high praise in the process.
After watching the movie I could see why...Sayles honest and well crafted script was wonderfully executed by a cast that ironically includes future Wire stars Bill Raymond who played "The Greek" and Frankie Faison who played Ervin Burrell but it the performance of Joe Morton who that catches the eye in a role and a subject which is relevant to today’s issues.... just like the wire.

What's ironic about the fact that some cast members were also in The Wire?

Somebody needs a dictionary.

The OP meant "coincidentally".
