I subscribe to Netflix and added City of Hope to my queue since, since I have never seen it, which is a glaring hole in my movie viewing.
When I checked my queue later, City of Hope was in a separate "Saved" queue, which Netflix puts movies in that are not available on DVD yet. It also had no date listed, which indicates that not only is it not out on DVD, it's also not planned for the near future. Is this true? Bummer.
The film was previously released on DVD quite some years ago but is no longer being sold. As far as I know there aren't any plans to produce another one. I ended up buying the DVD used off of Amazon. The picture quality is horrific but for a movie like this I wouldn't have it any other way -- gritty and dark, just like its theme.
