Magic = Selling Out?
Interesting that according to the lead character that using magic equalled selling out, that using it was in and of itself morally wrong and not just another tool/skill.

Been a long time since I've seen this movie but in "Witch Hunt" Lovecraft explains that he doesn't use magic not because it's selling out but because when he used it once in the past it got an innocent woman killed so he vowed never to use it again.
