Great message and very funny!!
I loved this movie. I actually purchased the DVD and recommend it to others. The reason I liked it so much is because I can relate to the idea of being so sure about something but then really it's just the general idea of things. Life has a way of guiding us in the direction of our dreams but we take the signs to literally and we end up getting confused when things don't work out EXACTLY like we had planned. However, if we trust that feeling and move in that direction, we are ultimately lead to the people, places and events that transform our lives. I thought it was very well done. It's tricky to weave different stories together and they did a great job. The characters are so wonderful. Jeff Daniels is hilarious!!! I think this may be one of his best roles. "I didn't sleep with your wife!", (the butcher) "MY LIFE, not my wife!". Very cute and very funny. I also love the little neighborhood feel. I want to live there!!! All the different personalities... all coexisting. And I love the way that all of the characters either revolve around Marina at the Butcher Shop or they revolve around their sessions with the psychiatrist (Jeff Daniels). Marina and Jeff Daniel's character are true opposites, yet in harmony and unaware of it. He is Freud, she is Jung. They are talking about the same thing, just from different sides of the issue. He is head, she is heart.
Great job and I highly recommend this adorable film with a timeless message about following your heart instead of your head.... or maybe finding a balance in the two??
