This is what happens when the two best movie genres in the world meet each other and have passionate sex. It's SCI-FI mixed in with sick old fashioned HORROR. It's the most beautiful mix ever and it was done in this ERIC RED masterpiece. All the best aspects for a good horror/sci-fi were perfectly aligned for this one. An outstanding lead actor, JEFF FAHEY (The Lawnmower Man), a great movie maker, ERIC RED, and a good book, "CHOICE CUTS" from BOILEAU-NARCEJAC. It's starts off good, then it gets better, but it doesn't stop there. It becomes eerie, then sick, then crazy, and all of a sudden you end up watching a violent twisted ending.

Maybe a little bit too much, but that's my style, I lay it on real thick for the one's I watch on a monthly bases.

As you can see, I like this movie a lot.

I hope the voices inside your head have kissed and made up! ;-) I agree that this tremendously entertaining film was one of a kind, a throwback to the grindhouse era. It would have been laughable had the performances not been so convincing and the makeup so believable. I found this overlooked gem for a buck. Money well spent!

for me, this was the last truly horrifying horror film made (feature-length, that is, so Cutting Moments is excluded)

the general plotline of this film is just something else

Agreed. This movie shows folks how it's done. Suspension of disbelief must be earned one scene at a time and this movie does just that. The utterly insane grand finale is nothing without the turn-of-the-screw pacing leading up to it. Rediscovering this gem on Netflix made my day!

Yeah it's a great entertaining piece of 90s Hollywood thriller fluff. Great acting, gory story, cheesy script. I sure as hell loved watching it.
