Is it just me...

Or is this film EXTREMELY John Carpenter-esque?

I remember seeing this in the early nineties, and have just watched it again some 15 or so years later, and the entire style of this film screams John Carpenter to me. Can't help it.

Great film anyway, and by the amount of activity on the board, this film is definitely underrated. Shame really...

I never thought of it that way.

It was kinda freaky.

I always considered it more sci-fi than horror, cause of the whole "graft thing".

So, yeah, I guess it is something Carpenter would do.

I thought it was cronenbergy.

Definitely Carpenter or Cronenberg. I think if either one of them would have diredted the movie would have been much better. The film is still very good nevertheless.

More Cronenberg with a dash of Stephen King. Def not Carpenter style (no synths shoulda gave that away).
