They should speak french...


...shouldn't they?
I mean, everything seemed to so authentic in this film: The languages of the Natives, the costumes, the setting...
BUT the French, like Champlain and Laforge, they have to speak English WHY?
This is embarassing, what do the people of Québec think about that?

And Lothaire Bluteau is from Quebec and does French language films. Subtitled films are an even tougher sell in America.

So you'd like a fully sub-titled film, which as the poster above correctly notes, historically, rarely do well in North America. Let's also not forget that a fairly major portion of funding was gained from English - speaking Australia. This is likely the reasons we get French - accented English, some of the time. 🐭
