Its available on Netflix but it says its runtime is only 128 minutes. Thats cutting out a huge majority of the film so im glad i discovered this and will avoid this shorter version but then i have the problem of where to find the longer version.

I got this film from Netflix and I received two disks. The first is 128 minutes and the second is 100 minutes.

shareYeah Netflix is cool that way...if it's a single film but so long that it has to be on 2 discs, they'll ship you both.
Not like those Blockbuster scum...they make you rent disc 1 and 2 of this film separately. Just another nail in their coffin as to why they're going belly up.

shareI'm glad I bought the dvd years ago...4 hrs version. It's going for $150 these days. Rewatching it for about the 5th time. Beart has quite the body.

shareIn the uk you can get the short version for 22 £ and the full version costs 60£ from new. If you have seen both versions would you recommend the short for 22£ or the real as used for 25£
shareI have only seen the 4 hour version and from what I have read the Divertimento cut takes out too much. I think the longer version is the way it should be seen. It might be slower at times, but I think that adds weight to the overall story and characters. I think the reason the Divertimento cut was made was to try to get more viewers who might think 4 hours is too daunting a task for a movie night. I guess overall the main point of the story is made with both versions, but to me I would always want to see it the way the director originally intended it to be seen.
