Worst movie ever?

Yeah, definitely the worst movie I have ever seen. Just boring and stupid, I don't see the point in it at all. It wasn't shocking, grotesque, thought-provoking, or any of the other buzzwords that snooty art film types use to describe this total waste of time.

Yeah, I didn't like it. I know the knee-jerk reaction from fans of this movie will be:

"Well, you didn't like it because you're STUPID! A film like this requires an elite level of intelligence to fully grasp the intricacies and complexities of a film with so much depth and meaning. You and your boorish nature couldn't possibly comprehend the director's point because you simply don't understand genius. I wouldn't even be bothered to try to explain it to you because it would be like describing quantum mathematics to a 3 year old! Go watch Stepbrothers for your mental stimulation!"

Translation: "I don't get it either, but I want to say I did because I like to pretend I'm smarter than everyone else."

This movie is just plain stupid. It's not artful, smart, intriguing, clever etc........ It's just pointless. I think the real idiots are the fans of this film, they seem to be the type that would try to find the "meaning" in watching paint dry.

Worst. Movie. Ever.

Well I for one watch films like this BECAUSE I don't understand them. That might sound stupid but I love the feeling of "Wow. What the *beep* did I just watch?"

I find it useful when someone complains like the original poster... to be quite honest.

I wish I had found his post before watching this movie. I feel like it was nothing more than wasted time.

Yes, I understand the allegorical implications and possible critiques that can be made of the film, the meaning, the depth, the philosophy.

Yes, I appreciate those things... but, this movie came across as "trying too hard".

I think you need to watch the entire Cremaster cycle... then come back and realize that your argument for Begotten is only about 30% less pretentious than people's identical arguments for that series.

Worst movie ever is "Warning: Pedophile released" which believe it or not is far worse than this. And there isnt even a pedophile in it. but i agree that this movie was really bad. I guess its not for everyone, some people like to see such stuff, and its their right to do so, i jsut wish i had known before i started watching it.

I don't think you're stupid for not liking Begotten. When I saw it, I thought of it as a movie nobody could possible like. I'm glad I saw it, but I did not enjoy watching it.
