Mrs. Potts too old to have a child

Mrs. Potts looked like she was about 55-60 years old. Chip seemed like he was 5 years old. Grandmother yes, but mother no.

We don't know how old she's supposed to be. When my mother was a young child, people thought her mother was her grandmother. Back in those days, women would have children as long as they could, even in their late 40s. I also thought Chip was supposed to be a bit older, like 7 or 8.

She might've been 35 when she had him.

When my now 2 year old nephew was a year old he called my mother(his grandma) "Mama," is it possible that Chip calls his grandma "mama"?

Drake is repetitive. He just raps the same thing over and over as if he is in an insane asylum!LOL:D

She does look a bit old. But there is mention of Chip's brothers and sisters, so he could be the youngest in a big family, born when his mother was say in her forties. And some people's hair goes white earlier than others.

Angela Lansbury has also been playing little old ladies since around Blue Hawaii (9 years older than Elvis and she was playing his mother). She also looks little old lady-ish in Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

She looked decades older than she was when she was even in her 30s (!), so it fits. Mrs. Potts could be 50ish and indeed have a young son. But yeah, like Lansbury's whole career from the 1960s 'til now, Mrs. Potts looks like a grandmother.

And if you've ever seen a lot of retro films and television, you know that people used to act and dress a lot older than they really were. Smoking aged people considerably, but so did fashion. Watch I Love Lucy and look up the actor ages, for example.

One can also start to wrinkle and lose hair in their 30's if I remember correctly.
