Just watched it again.
It is good for your basic cheesy sci-fi flick.

What I liked: Jade was hot and I liked her singing - that cool artsy kind of performance. I like that there was no "body count" (that I recall). Refreshing to have an action flick without a lot of killing and maiming. Pretty straight forward formula - predictable, but still worth watching. Nice to see Claudia Christian. The acting over-all was pretty decent. The costumes and alien makeup and sets were all pretty fair - allowing for a budget film of this type made in 89'.

I gave it a six.
I think it works well as a "feel good" Saturday matinee kind of movie; a guilty pleasure worth watching again from time to time.
