ummm this movie was horrible

I love this conedy duo.

See no evil and stir crazy blow this movie out the water.

Contrived, forced acting on behalf of Pryor ( I understand he's debilitating at this point in his career)

I felt like Wilder was holding this movie up like a crutch but to no avail.

Bad story, horrible directing... its deserving of a score less then it currently holds

I didn't laugh once to this movie but atleast I enjoyed Mercedes Ruehl in the bedroom scene :-)

There ya go, about sums it up. Actually half thought at very beginning it just might have something going on. I mean the White Horse credit bit & then tho obvious, sax playing scam were only half way there. But doing the Woody Allen routine in psych session just about finished it off for me.
Sad end for the two good comics.

What was debilitating was his MS.

I wonder how hard it was for Gene Wilder to get through this movie? Obviously, when compared to Richard Pryor, it was a picnic. My point is that I'm sure that Gene was still reeling from the death of his wife, Gilda Radner roughly two years prior. It seems awfully incidental that Gene pretty much retired from acting (Another You was his last theatrical film) shortly after this.

I read something earlier today about him being disappointed in films today. It all being boobs, violence and profanity. He said if he was offered a script worth doing, he would.

TMC-4, Gene had starred in "See No Evil, Hear No Evil" in 1989, the year Gilda passed away, so it's probably safe to say he'd probably moved on by the time this movie was made.

I'm surprised that Richard Pryor was able to get insured (which I assume is a union requirement for any actor on set) for "Another You" because he was so obviously ill when he made that movie.

1. Gene Wildest worst haircut, ever.
2. Mercedes Ruehl as the sex-pot femme fatale. Mercedes Ruehl.
3. A giant hat that is clearly essential to the plot, but I couldn't tell you how. Maybe its a symbol?
4. A goofy "PG plot" riddled with profanity. Pryor drops two F-Bombs literally before the movie even starts. Who's this for?
5. The bad-ass marine from Avatar playing a prototypical 80's villain, in a 90's movie.
6. Director Peter Bogdonovich was called at midnight, five weeks into shooting, and fired.
7. A plot riddled with the most epic unnecessary convolutions.
8. Kevin Pollak in a role in which he only speaks in celebrity impressions.
9. It murdered a lot of careers. The writer never wrote another movie. After a 3 year hiatus the director returned to TV. Neither Wilder nor Pryor starred in another movie.
10. It cost 17 million. It made 2.8 million, more than half of that on the opening weekend.

Gene's haircut was quite out of control in this!

I figured the hat represented some kind of link to his friends in the funny farm and it gave him confidence, as he seemed quite "lost" suddenly when it got run over by the car.

The F-bombs were a surprise and not necessary. I watched See No Evil, Hear No Evil prior to this (such a better movie) and that has swearing too. I remember watching an interview with Gene and he said movies are all about swearing and sex now, and that's one of the reasons he dropped out of acting. However, both these movies have swearing and plenty of sexual stuff going on.

The Kevin Pollak stuff got a bit tiring but I liked the reactions of the doctor / host of the group in yelling at him to stop. That was funny.

I also watched Silver Streak prior to See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and that was great.
