David Bradley is wearing eye liner in some scenes

I'm watching this classic in HD, and in the scenes where he escapes through the market with the Black sidekick, he's clearly wearing black eye liner. I remember people were mocking the mayor character in Dark Knight for the same thing, but I can clearly see it under Bradley's eyes.
