shareYou know I have been asking myself the same question ever since I first saw that film! I know it's based on a popular Spanish Christmas song "La Marimorena" and I have searched for it online, however as these versions are all usually part of Christmas compilations I haven't yet hit on the right one. I suspect that it was only recorded expressly for the film's soundtrack, in which case I very much doubt that you'll find it. Shame really, I found it an incredibly moving and haunting accompaniment to such a tragic scene.
shareFrom Wikipedia:
That scene [the tragic ending] filmed in front of the famous Burgos Cathedral was articulated around a popular Spanish Christmas carol, La Marimorena, whose traditional cheerful melody, by contrast, is changed for the score into an elegiac and sad one. The score was composed by Jose Nieto, often working with Aranda (...) and the film editor was Aranda’s regular, his wife Teresa Font.
You should probably have warned about a spoiler in your subject line! There goes the ending ruined for me...
shareIt's a combination of "La Marimorena" and "Dime, niño, de quién eres".
