Was this movie delayed? I knew this guy who said he saw it in a theater, in the late eighties. I don't know if he was lying or what. Does anyone know when this movie played in the theatres?

I think this movie was theatrically released in 1990..... despite IMDb saying 91. I don't think it did very well in the box office. It did have a cool poster though.

I know I saw it on TV no later than 1991.

I thought this was a made for TV movie sequel with the video release containing more violence.
Alligator did well in the ratings when ABC broadcast the film that they immediatley set up to make a sequel for TV. That's why the film had a cheap. low budget, sloppiliy script look about it. And the Alligator looked phoney as Hell!
