Can anyone explain this to me?

When Secundus leaves the diner (after having his "complete breakfast"), he walks by a US post office identified as Thornbury, NY 10031. There are also some USA Today newspaper stands by the street in this scene. After I saw this, my jaw dropped. Seriously, what the hell is this doing in an obvious Canadian production? Searching the web, I found out that postal code 10031 is in downtown Manhattan and that no town of Thornbury exists in NY state. Any clues as to what the production staff was trying to accomplish here with this? BTW, the Rifftrax version of this was a real hoot.

Hiya, Mr. Peppy Flake! Now you're gonna DIE!!

Kind of like how in Prisoners of the Lost Universe they're supposed to be in California in the beginning, but all the cars have steering wheels on the opposite side of where they'd be in America.
