Has anyone seen the blu ray DVD yet?

Just wondering how the sound is, since this is a film that has quite an immersive sound design. Also wondering about the rich, dark images, which I've never been happy with on TV.

The blu-ray is actually a major improvement, with the exception of a pretty poor english translation (which reads as if it were translated via an online program with no editor).

It looks beautiful in blu-ray. The detail is soft but intentionally so, and the images are much more clean than in the dvd editions.

I agree with every point hajj628 makes. Kar Wai fans will certainly want the blu-ray.

Can someone provide a link to an online retailer of the blu-ray version of DoBW, please? Thanks. :)

The blu-ray transfer looks great, an appreciable upgrade from the DVD. Not quite sure what you mean by 'immersive' sound design though... I think WKW and Doyle overall did pretty well given the film's budget, but the foley effects are distractingly awful. The rain sounds artificially loud and close (more as if someone is taking a shower with the bathroom door open) and the fight sounds always make me cringe.
