Haven't seen this film but:

976-EVIL (1989) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094597/ was

1. Directed by Robert Englund who played Freddy in Nightmare On Elm Street

2. Written by Brian Helgeland who also wrote Nightmare On Elm Street 4

Obviously no-one pays attention.

When Spike visits Brigitte Nielsen at her Occult shop, she says something about him reminding her of a young Freddy Krueger.

I assume this is the reference.

"Hi, I'm Sukie Bapswent."

reply

I suppose it's when he goes through the prison bars?

reply

Mongster is right. Agnes says Spike looks like a young Freddy Krueger. There's your Nightmare on Elm Street reference.

Homage to the first 976-Evil's director, I suppose.

"I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen."

theres a part when the girl who got tranfered into the its a wonderful life. shes up against a door shot just like the heriones do in nightmare on elm street. it might just be ripping it off.

while the girl mentioning the guy looking like freddy is probably it, i noticed that the killers last name was kruger. thats what i assumed because robert englund who is freddy krueger directed the first one.

reply

It's when Bridgette Nielsen says Spike reminds her of a young Freddy Krueger. Also, the villain-walking-through-bars bit rings a bell as Krueger did the same in ANOES 1.

Welcome to my Nightmare- Freddy Krueger

I also thought that the first kill had an NOES reference because the girl who is chased out of the shower and onto the stage yells for Nancy.
