Is 976-evil II on dvd in region 1?

I was wondering if this movie is out on dvd on region 1 yet? I have checked the internet over the past year and can only find it on region 2.

reply

I wish it was only on region 1 to save me from having seen the film!

reply

Its worth it to get the region free DVD player... UK has many old releases we still don't have on DVD in the states!

reply

I Personally think a region free dvd player is good investment.
Others will disagree as more Region 1 dvd's are being released.

Some Region 2 dvd's I had for three years before American DVD was ever released.

It's finally been released on DVD by Lionsgate on an 8 Movie Pack. It can be found for $5 at Wal-Mart, which is where I bought my copy of said 8 Movie Pack.

reply

I'm quite disappointed in the new Lionsgate transfer actually...
guess it's too much to ask, but would love to see this along with the uncut versions of the original 976-EVIL. A widescreen double-feature on BD would be awesome.

reply

It would be nice, especially to see an uncut version of the first movie, but much like the Fright Night films, different companies have the home video rights to the 2 976-EVIL movies. Sony has the rights to the first one and Lionsgate has the rights to the second.

As for the Lionsgate transfer on the 8 movie pack, I think it looks okay. Could have been much worse, I suppose.

reply

I was thinking about getting the dvd but it has 3 other movies on it, so thats probably why the transfer looks so bad because of time compression on the disc, its so stupid they released this in an 8 pack 2 dvd set, instead of separately.

reply

I think the transfer looks very good, alot better than i expected, most of the time it depends on what kind of tv and dvd player you have, i have a Samsung 51 inch plasma and Samsung dvd player and it looks really sharp, the picture is very bright, the color is really nice, its about as good as they can get it, in my opinion, considering its one of these low budget B movies from 1992.
