To all the Sicilians who've seen this movie...

Did you actually enjoy 29th Street? It's obviously about Northern Italians who are different than us. For those who don't know: we are friendly and easygoing (but can get feisty); they're just plain aggressive and mean. So I ask all my paisans out there, do you actually find this to be a good movie?? It got on my nerves, personally. I'm sick of people putting us in the same class as them.

you make Sicilians out to be some kind of God...take it easy, an italian is an italian. Its a mob movie type of thing. and whose to say there not sicilian? just cuz they talk tough?

reply

lol, sorry I came off that way, I'm just very proud of who I am. Well, I say they're not Sicilian because in the scene where he sister gets married, Frank says that "she married a Sicilian guy" and everyone in his family seemed to be pretty disgusted by it.

I've a friend who's half of each, and her mother once told me when she married her husband his aunt at the reception told her "we don't like your people," because she's Sicilian. If you research and find out more, you'd be surprised how much they don't like us. They make me look like a Saint, lol.

Yea, considering SIcilians give Italians a bad name with their mob connections , as a Northern Italian I'm glad you consider us different.
I always tell people Sicilians are the ni99as of Italy.
