I just don't get it...

How can anyone like Dana? She puts down everything and is the most supercilious character I have ever seen. Then in the later seasons she gets those ridiculous collagen injections. Karen was unlikable, too, but at least she liked certain things. Al was hot as hell and the most down to earth of the three girls. Maybe I don't like Dana because she reminds me of this one girl I knew as a kid that I wanted to powerbomb through cement.

My question is, does anyone remember Dana ever doing something good?

Dana was a flawed and at times deeply unlikable character, but she did have some redeeming qualities. She stuck up for Frank in the first season episode "Country Club" when some members of some upscale country club the family had briefly joined were making fun of him. In the fourth season episode "Letting Go", when Cody was under the mistaken impression that Dana was allergic to him, and despite her own conflicted feelings for him, she told him that she wanted him to stay and that she would do whatever it took for her health to keep him around. In an episode in the later seasons she stuck up for Karen when she discovered that she was being used by a sorority to lure Dana into joining so that they could keep their collective GPA up to standard so that they could remain viable. Also in the fourth season episode "Big Girls Don't Cry", she (and Karen) saved Al from being taken advantage of by some scumbag upperclassman at a college party. I'm sure there are some other instances, but the point is, Dana wasn't ALL bad.

Dana could be a jerk and a snob, sure. But as she also was the "smart girl" on this show, I have to say that she still was my favorite out of these three sisters.

Intelligence and purity.
