Anybody else feel sorry for Ug?

Was I the only one who always used to feel sorry for Ug? I always thought Ug was really cool. Plus, most of the times, when he seemed like a hard-@$$, honestly, it seemed mostly justified. I mean, Budnick was always causing crap. Ug was just trying to do his job.

I loved Ug as a character. Really dumb, and over the top. Always getting into hilariously crazy situations. He was great on this show.

As a kid, I remember being against Ug just because all the other kids were. But yes, as an adult, I totally feel sorry for Ug! LOL.

I feel that way about so many characters and real people these days: Mr. Belding on SBTB, the dad on The Wonder Years. They were all truly great influences and had the best intentions in the world...we just didn't see it as kids!

When I look back on the show as an adult, I feel bad for him. Not so much when i was a kid, though.

The more people I meet, the more I get why Jane Goodall spends all of her time with chimps.....

No, I didn't feel sorry for Ug, he was a complete jerk. The job of a camp counselor is to make camp fun for the campers and Ug made it more like military training. Sure, he had to deal with Budnick, and Budnick was a bully and not the easiest person to deal with, but Ug's solution was to be an even bigger bully, and to be that way towards all the campers.

if I remember correctly, his middle name was Lee, so they used to go "ug-lee, ug-lee, UGLY UGLY!" lollllll I loved this show!

Realism, Remakes and Unnecessary Sequels are ruining movies!

This! I get that he was doing his job but the way he talked to the kids... Just always irritated me so I never really felt bad for him.

After revisiting the show 20 years later I didn't remember Ug being such a silly character. I remember him being a menacing threat to punish all of them from when I was a Kid.

Real question is, do you think the character of Kevin "Ug" Lee has ever been laid? I'm talking in the world of Salute Your Shorts...not the real guy.
