Could A Reunion Movie Work?

Could a Salute Your Shorts movie work with the same actors reprising their roles and a new set of kids?

Think about it:

- Dina, a fashion consultant, being married and having a daughter at camp who is a tomboy like Telly

- Telly, a college basketball coach, being married and having a daughter at camp who is fashion and image conscious like Dina

- Dr. Kahn retiring as camp director and Kevin Ug Lee and his wife Mona taking over the position as co-directors

- Donkeylips, who is singe, is the camp counselor who gets outsmarted by the campers

- Z.Z., who is also single, is the park ranger (like Mona) and Donkeylips has developed a secret crush on Z.Z. over the years as her co-worker

- Michael, a married lawyer, having a son who is the new kid at camp just like Mike was, with Mike writing him letters on how to survive Camp Anawanna

- Pinsky, a life coach and motivational speaker with a best-selling book, is married with twins at camp- a boy and a girl. The twins run the camp and pull a bunch of schemes and pranks.

- Sponge, a software developer, having a son at camp who is just like him (who he communicates with via computer). Sponge is married to the girl he went on the movie date with.

- Budnick is a divorced business tycoon who never sent his kids (two sons and a daughter) to camp.

The plot of the movie could center on Budnick's money-driven plans to buy Camp Anawanna's property, shut down the camp and build some condominiums. Donkeylips and Z.Z. learn of this and contact the gang, who try to convince Budnick to remember the good times he had at camp (with flashbacks) and let a new generation of kids enjoy Camp Anawanna as well. After the campers get notified by Ug and Mona about the possible closure of the camp, the kids, despite their differences, band together to scheme in an effort to prevent the Budnick's construction crew from destroying the camp. They also decide to stop giving Donkeylips a hard time and help him win Z.Z.'s heart. Telly and Dina also learn to accept their children for who they are.

Absolutely! Your ideas are awesome. Please contact Nickelodeon or start some sort of petition. We need to get this exposed and have people know that there is still love for the show.

I think they tried to do a 20 year anniversary reunion banquet organized by Michael Ray Bower a couple years ago and only half the cast at best agreed to go, so it never happen. So that makes the odds for a movie virtually zero, but it would have been fun to see though and the cast of Pete and Pete are still pretty close and have done things like banquets and parties for fans recently, it is too bad this cast seems to be the opposite of that.

I think I see Donkeylips more like the counselor who looks the other way, rather than having to be tricked. He may not have been the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's been around the block to know what goes on.
Michael was actually the one who hated Camp Anawana the most. If anything, I could see his and Budnick's situations being reversed. Budnick went to camp voluntarily, IIRC, while Michael was forced to go. Sponge wasn't too keep on camp either, though he seemed to be more okay with it after Donkeylips stopped bullying him and they became friends.

Well...the lady who played Mona has died. But her death would be the least of your problems getting this movie green lit.

Her death was really sad.
