Is there anybody else who doesn't think the show went downhill?

I just don't see it. The episode really didn't even change much in tone, humor and even animation-wise it was pretty similar. Billy West also did a great job at his John Kricfalusi impression. It's like you barely notice he was fired.

Season 5 is the weakest, but even that one I think is good, and season 4 is the best of the John-free seasons!

Not to mention we still got some fantastic episodes like To Salve And Salve Not, Stimpy's Cartoon Show, Double Header, Insomniac Ren (my favorite episode or at least in the top 5), My Shiny Friend, Ren Needs Help!, Who's Stupid Now? and Terminal Stimpy.

If anything, I think this is one of the rare cases where a cartoon went on just long enough to not become stale and painful to watch. Five seasons was just the right amount, neither more or less.

I dunno, I just don't understand the criticisms. Season 3-5 are really underrated.

The style and humour changed after John K's dismissal, but Seasons 3 and 4 have some of the best episodes imo. Season 5 is easily the weakest though.

Based on Peter Lorre, of course (Kirk Douglas and Burl Ives, too>)

'Tis the OINLY reason not to sure (Mel Blaqnc HAREDLY imitated anyone outside of Barney Rubble, Mr Spacely, Foghorn, Pepe Le Pew and some celebs, due to feqr of being sued and taking credit away.Good night and God Bless.) oo bad this show isn't updated

It definitely went downhill after Kricfalusi was gone.

Been binge watching the series for the first time in years, and I agree there's no dip in quality. It's notably different in the humor department, but to me it's just as funny and bonkers as the John K episodes. Some of my all time favorites are from season 4.
