Does anyone own both the Volume 1 and 2 box sets and the "Complete 65 episodes" box set? Is there any difference? I notice that the 65 Episodes box set fits all the episodes onto 5 disks, yet the Vol. 1 & 2 box sets uses 10 disks. Is there a loss of quality in the 65 Episodes box set? Any special features missing from that one that the Volumes set has?
The 65 box set has 5 discs, but they are double sided, so in effect it is 10.
The bonus material is 2 bonus interviews and 4 commentary tracks. One commentary track ("The Singing Sword") doesn't work on mine - just static. Not sure if this is true about all copies)
The Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 sets both have 4 double sides discs however, so in effect you get 18 discs. I don't own the Complete 65 Episode box so I do not know if there's a difference in quality.
The Special Features are: Vol. 1: -Interviews with the series creator/producer David J. Corbett, writer Brooks Wachtel, and comic strip historian Rick Norwood -2 Episode Commentaries -Storyboard Gallery -Slideshow of character paintings and background design -Selection of scripts in PDF format
Vol. 2: -Interviews with voice artist Noelle North, and series writers Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens -2 Epsiode Commentaries -Storyboard Galleries -Image Galleries -Selection of scripts in PDF format -Ink & Paint Trailers -Bonus Episode: "Defenders of the Earth" Ep. 26 guest-starring Prince Valiant.
The 65 disc only has what I mentioned, so this is what's extra on the seperate versions:
-Storyboard Gallery -Slideshow of character paintings and background design -Selection of scripts in PDF format
-Storyboard Galleries -Image Galleries -Selection of scripts in PDF format -Ink & Paint Trailers -Bonus Episode: "Defenders of the Earth" Ep. 26 guest-starring Prince Valiant.
