I Loved This Show

I loved this show. I thought it got better as it went along. It's a shame it didn't last longer.

I also really enjoyed this show, but I disagree that it got better as it went along. I thought with each season there was a notable drop in quality.

I didn't really enjoy the third season that much. Casey took up too much screentime and Hank/Gina were way better characters when they were pining after one another. Once they got together they became very annoying in my opinion. Also Sandy was a huge loss to the show.

Anways I still remember the first two seasons fondly.

I think Jeff Altman was the funniest from the first season and they dropped him - they should have tried to keep him on.

I kind of agree with Jennifer.

I always remember the first season being the strongest. After that, with each passing season, there was a serious decline.

Sadly, I attribute much of it to Loni Anderson. I hold no ill will towards her, or the character of Casey for that matter, I just thought it was all a little misguided. The show was in ratings decline and casting Anderson was nothing more than a stunt. At the time, she was receiving a ton of press for her very public breakup with Burt Reynolds. I'm sure the powers that be thought it would save the show. It worked, for awhile anyway. The show did see a significant boost, but it was short lived. She just started to overshadow the rest of the cast, and from there it was Jump The Shark time.

Season 1 was good and the later addition of Dr Riskin was a welcome one. But season 2 was the start of the decline with the disposal of Greg and Dr Riskin, whilst season 3 completely nosedived with the loss of Sandy and the arrival of Casey. Had they kept Sandy we might have had some entertaining showdowns with her and Casey.
