Noel's House Party was brilliant

I was only 2 years old when Noel's House Party was first shown on TV (it was first broadcast on 23rd Nov 1991) but I always watched it without fail. I was allowed to stay up every saturday to watch it, and I found it hilarious. My favorite bit was when Mr Blobby showed up, and I could never pronounce Noel's name properly. To me, it was always "Noy-ell's house party".

By 1998 I was beginning to realise that the show wasn't as good anymore, and I didn't trouble to watch it every week, and by 1999 I rarely watched it. When I heard that in March 1999 the show was being axed, I felt really upset for Noel Edmonds. I watched the last episode and at the end Noel was putting a brave face on, but he had tears in his eyes and he had a kind of helpless look on his face. I was crying already (it sounds a bit pathetic, I know, but I was only 9 at the time).
Saturday nights are nothing without it, and I wish they would show repeats or put some of the best moments of the show on video and dvd so I could see them again.
I can hardly remember anything about the show now, and when I read about it some words and phrases such as "Gotcha" and "Crinkley Bottom" cause a flicker in my memory.I think I would still love it if I saw it again, even though I am 17 this year and I don't know if I would still find it funny.

I am really happy that Noel has a comeback on TV on Deal Or No Deal, which I absolutely love, and I never miss it. He has a charming smile and makes everyone laugh with his natural wit and jokes. One would never believe that he lived in depression through those years after the collapse of his tv career.

WELL DONE NOEL, YOU'RE A LEGEND

I agree with squawky on this. I loved this show on a weekly basis. I just wished I'd recorded some episodes of it so I could enjoy it again. This was the height of Saturday Night TV Glory. Who could forget Mr. Blobby (whether we want to or not) and the originality of the Gotcha award? I still love the one for the late, great Richard Whiteley. And, NTV was just pure genius. I even got the board game I loved it that much.

"They will take us and they'll make us human slaves in an insect nation."

I loved Noel's house party, along with gladiators, it was the
hightlight of my Saturday nights as a kid. i remember always thinking i
would be the victim of NTV and check the house for hidden cameras! (as
if the nation would be interested in an 8 year old!!)

I watched this from the start upto 1995-6, when it began to loose it's momentum.

The Gotchas were the highlight of the show, DLT's one was the best.

I found it on Youtube & It's still funny 15 years later.

A few other things were good, like Just Wait Till I Get You Home & NTV.
