Amazing

Some episodes are better than others but as an American who avoided Vicar because religion I thino Dawn French is amazing.

In fact, I think Ricky Gervais stole her timing and mannerisms.

Great find!

This show is an overlooked gem. I (in the US) was lucky enough to see it on a PBS station in the 1990s, and now one can find eps online, thank heavens. Cannot imagine why it isn't being offered on US cable or streaming venues.

As much as I like French & Saunders, I prefer each in her own projects. I strongly recommend Vicar of Dibley (it's really about a handful of idiosyncratic villagers and village politics, not about religion) and perhaps Wild West, a show DF did with Catherine Tate (I've seen only 1 ep, and I really liked it; with their track record, every ep is likely to be as good). And Vivienne Vyle (Saunders -- dark parody of a Jeremy Kyle-type TV show host and crew).
