The Book

Ann Rule wrote "If You Really Loved Me" about this case and the book is excellent. I recommend it for anyone who has further questions or can't seem to catch "Love Lies & Murder" on Lifetime. Ann Rule had no part of "Love, Lies & Murder" - her book is from her own research and trial attendance. I enjoyed both the book and the movie, but you really get a lot more insight from the book.

I've never read a true crime book like that, but seeing this movie made me very interested in the case. I just may look for this book at the library.

I just finished the book about an hour ago. i wanted to read it after i saw part of the movie on Lifetime and my mom was going on about it. I've never read a true crime book or a crime book for that matter and it was pretty good. i'm looking forward to the next time they show the movie.

"Due to a lack of interest, tomorrow has been cancelled."

I'm not usually much for true crime books, but all of Ann Rule's are very readable and interesting. I think it's her friendship and respect for the investigators and her ability to get inside the mind of the killer.

Six years after your post and this movie is still making an impact. It had my wife frothing at the mouth over this guy and twice I found myself wanting to reach into the TV and beat the crap out of him.

I'm not much into crime books but this one looks good enough to try out, so taking your advice, I'm getting it from the local library.

I'm so glad you are going to borrow the book. You will not be disappointed. As someone else posted, Ann Rule has a knack for writing True Crime like no other. She doesn't glorify the crime, she is more of a victim's advocate and scratches at every surface to make sure the entire story is told, including giving the accused an opportunity to be interviewed. David Brown was interviewed by Ann ~ as if he'd let an opportunity to brag about himself pass ~ so you'll get to read that as well. Enjoy, drop a line when you've finished if you care to ~ I'd love to hear your thoughts on the book!
Take Care,
Chris
